Do it yourself living room wall at HOMIFY

E:

When it came to furnishing the living room, I had once no idea what I want at all. Hours of surfing around in some portals that were rolled badly together, it was difficult to pick up a few ideas. I wanted something that not necessarily everyone has, but should be practical and also include a design element. I’ve been thinking for many days and many sleepless nights back and forth, how it should look like. Many furniture stores wanted to give me a member card, because I was so often turned around and looked for inspiration there. Too bad that I have only just discovered the Homepage of HOMIFY ,which would have saved me quite a bit of time and nerves.
I came on that point and to the decision to make the living room wall by myself. Because, everything  that I wanted, was not in the market. And here is my Idea of my DIY living room wall and this is why I need to make a plan.

How should it look like?
What materials are needed?
How much will it all cost?

This was easy for me, because of many impressions before, since I now knew what I wanted. So, the question was, how to put everything together now?

First of all, you need a wooden structure. The beams can be cut by a profession or just cut themselves. It is very important that you use the proper anchors and more importantly a spirit level. You have nothing from your wall, if after all, everything is wrong and nothing fits.
I wanted to have a left and right eye-catcher with lighting and in the middle my TV and the shelves should be also there.

It’s very important, to know the deep of your shelves that you want to have there, so you need to build the wooden structure as deep as your shelves.
As background, I thought of a stone wall, but yet I quickly decided against it because I thought only how I should keep it so clean when there is everywhere the dust on the stones. So, I decided for the floor as a background. The fact that I have a vinyl floor, it was even easier to get the same floor in sheets. These are thin plates which can be super trim and you can put them directly on the wall with a special glue. You could even cut the sheets with a commercial shear. And so the wall was finished rather quickly.
The wooden structures were covered with sheetrock and later plastered with plaster. Only spots in my eye-catcher and my idea was finished.

The next step was now the furniture and the decoration. Those who still want to see a few decorating ideas, here is an article from my last decoration Idea.
My shelves are from Ikea from the series of Besta (here), vases of Leonardo (here) and the Plastic Flowers are from a Store called Müller in Germany . So and now I hope you enjoy it also as much as I do. Now only still needs a larger television, then I can also hang it on the wall :). For more inspiration I recommend to HOMIFY (link below), besides architecture, there are also quite a lot of great tips and gorgeous interiors to admire.

D:

Erst einmal musste eine Holzkonstruktion her.
