Quantum Courage

E:

The fashion brand Quantum Courage has called to show our brave side to us. I thought about it a long time- back and forth- what scares me very much? I thought I would do Houserunning, skydiving or something very dangerous (enough vouchers are still around here :)), but I decided for something else. For some of you, it may be banal and boring and perhaps many think that it has nothing to do with willpower. But I want to tell you the story behind my willpower for “inline skating” and why this is one of my nightmare.

Now we go a few years back. I was a student and I worked on weekends as during the holidays, always at the Europa Park Rust. Since the distance from my parents’ house was not far, and with inliner it has taken me about 30 minutes, that was no problem for me. Thus I had also done my workout a day and could be outside an breath lots of fresh air.

One day, on a long day’s work, which incidentally was very hot far beyond the 30 degrees mark, I went full exhaustion with the liner home and was angry about me, because I hadn’t taken my car.
The street was totally overheated and the heat surrounded me from all sides. I was totally exhausted and was happy to see the last 500 meters in front of me. I was looking forward to take off this Inline shoes. Unfortunately, everything changed.

Go to our main street a few weeks, the road has been previously renewed, and therefore the tar was quite fresh. The heat swelled enormously and I’m stuck with my liner in this tar. And everyone know, that you don’t drive slow with your Inliner, especially as Intermediate driver.

I was very unhappy because I had not seen the danger easily. I felts hard that I flew on my tailbone. I sat there and didn’t feel my legs. I was completely apathetic and cried all the time. All my life walked past my mind’s eye, all I couldn’t do anymore if I were sitting in a wheelchair. Then I started with positiver thoughts, clearly I can handle it well when others can make it too. I can do it too, and nobody won’t stop me.

After about 20 minutes my legs were tingling. You can’t imagine how happy I was. As if a giant, super and mega large stone felt off me. I straightened up slowly, took my liner off and went home. I was ok again and nothing hurts anymore, just my tailbone a little bit. But the pain should come only a few years later.

My back pain begins, also migraines and I could no longer sit on a chair without a pillow.

After visiting orthopedist, it was clear to me that my tailbone had dawned and had grown unfortunately very bad together. The doctor said I should always run with a little pillow around (to chair upholstery) and make also lot of sports , to build my back muscles.  So I can keep the damage to a minimum, but none can fix it at all. So I need to live with it.

I have begun to make more sport and my migraines have formed extremely back. Clear my back pain I’ll never get completely rid of, but it’s gotten a lot better.

Since the day when the accident happened, I never been again on Inliner. But today it was the day. I was nervous and my body was shaking. My first steps were miserable and I was really scared. But I did it and I am so proud of myself. I’ll never drive like in the past , but I’ve taken an important step for me.
And I thank the fashion brand Quantum Courage, that they encouraged me in any way to face my fear. What’s your fear? Tell me about it.

D:

Was macht dir denn besonders Angst?
